If you are thinking of a holiday near the Lakes in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside, consider Isaacs Byre in Garrigill. It is a lovely old barn conversion, newly renovated, sleeping at least 6 people in comfort, with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There's one double bedroom with en suite shower room, one twin on the ground floor which can be a super king size bed with family bathroom nearby, and another twin room with a shower room next to it.
Downstairs, there's a wood burning stove, an open plan living room with views over the valley, a gorgeous kitchen with range cooker, a garden, storage for bikes, and parking for 2 cars. The cottage is a 10-15 min walk from a local pub serving food and real ales, and it is on the C2C and Pennine Way routes. It is within travelling distance of Hadrian’s Wall, Lake District and Northumberland National Parks, Durham, Carlisle and Newcastle cities or a short hop over the Border to Gretna in Scotland. Alston is 4 miles and village shop and pub are ¼ mile on foot for the adventurous or 1 mile by car. It is also pet friendly making it an ideal base to start your exploration of the countryside with your dog.
